As you work with prospects in FI Works, you can add activities to the prospect including:
- Additional Contacts
- Contact History
- Notes
- Opportunities
- Cases
- Referrals
Once your prospect becomes a customer, you can "convert" the prospect to the customer record from your core system. This sets the status of the prospect to "converted" and moves all of the associated activities from the prospect to the customer.
To convert a prospect:
1 . Find the prospect by browsing or by searching.
2 . Click the "Convert to a Customer" button in the toolbar.
3. The system automatically searches for customers using the prospect name. If more than one matching customer is found, each customer will be listed.
4. If the matching customer is not found, you can modify the search terms and click "Search".
5. Click the "Conver to this Customer" button.
6. The customer profile is displayed with the activity information from the prospect.
The status of the prospect will be set to "Converted" and will no longer appear in the list of prospects. You can still search for the prospect record to view it. When you view the prospect profile, you will see a message saying that the prospect was converted:
