Activities are work items that are linked to customers or prospects. Activities include:
- Tasks - General purpose work items like on-boarding
- Opportunities - Sales opportunities
- Cases - Work items generally used to assign work to a back-office function
Each activity is assigned to a user and has a Status, Disposition, and Priority. The system automatically tracks the person that created the activity and any changes to it over time.
How Are Activities Created
You can manually add Opportunities and Cases to a customer or prospect using the Profile pages. Tasks, Opportunities, and Cases can also be generated by the system on a scheduled basis.
Generated activities are triggered by data rules. For example, on-boarding tasks can be generated daily based on the customer or account open date.
Viewing Activities
FI Works has two features to help you view and work activities:
- My Queue
- Activity Queue
My Queue can be included on your home page. It shows the five most recent activities of each type. The Activity Queue shows all your activities and has extensive filtering and sorting capabilities.
Working Activities
When you click on an activity in My Queue or Activity Queue, the activity is shown above the customer or prospect profile. This gives you the chance to review the profile before you work on the activity.
Expiration
FI Works can set expiration rules for activities. For example, on-boarding tasks are generally expired 30 days after they are created. When an activity is expired, it is removed from your queue. It is still visible on the profile.
